Because of the amount of video and music downloads currently common amongst mainly private Broadband users, most providers are now currently 'capping' the amount of bandwidth allowed for end users. Whilst unlimited bandwidth is still found, it will eventually disappear, with end users being obliged to pay for what they use or pay a heavy premium for unlimited downloading.
Although we only cater for Business users and therefore the amount of online time, on average, is lower than home users we have brought out a completely new tariff to make it clear what the alternatives are. This allows relatively low users the opportunity to save money or get faster 20:1 connections, and the higher users will pay the right price for the bandwidth they use.
Consumer suppliers (like BT, TalkTalk, Sky etc) tend to confuse the issues by 'bundling' various services together to hide the real cost of broadband amongst the alternative telephone, or other services available. We think that stating the 'real' cost is more transparent to our business users and they can tailor their real business requirements to the appropriate charges. All of our tariffs only require monthly contracts so are much more flexible.
